Theatre
is the playground where all the arts come in to play - literature,
music, dance, performance, and visual arts. The Sapphire Theatre
Company blends these components together into entertainment that
connects the artists and the audience. Understanding that theatre is
inherently magical, we create productions that are rooted in truth
while living and breathing in the realm of imagination. The Sapphire
Theatre Company takes theatre’s natural integration of multiple
elements a step further by combining the passion and purpose of our
non-profit mission with for-profit business models in order to
develop and sustain the arts. Our plans support the city’s focus on
cultural growth by compensating artists in order to retain and
cultivate the local talent pool. Our objective is to purchase and
renovate a historic building in downtown Indianapolis into The
Sapphire Theatre - a home for the arts and the community. Once open,
The Sapphire Theatre will mix live concerts, classic and independent
film, dance, theatre and more with a coffee shop and a cocktail
lounge, creating a multi-faceted local hub to serve the growing
population of Indianapolis. There will always be something happening
at The Sapphire Theatre.

Our
Vision:
A jewel begins as a rough mass of possibility deep within the earth.
Once discovered, it is carefully excavated, shaped, cut, polished,
and transformed into a multi-faceted thing of beauty. So it is with
our process. We fuse together the essential artistic elements, shape
and polish the work, and transform it into a multi-faceted piece of
art. Then, we offer it to you, our audience, for it is through your
eyes that the inner beauty is revealed.

T he Future:
The Sapphire Theatre will provide some of the local essentials of a
quality life: a destination where you can meet interesting people
and find out what’s happening; a place to enjoy great food, coffee
and spirits at a reasonable price; and a theatre, the enchanting
space where art and life intermingle.
